太平洋战争爆发后，中日战事变幻莫测，山西一代地势复杂，藏龙卧虎，成为兵家必争之地。各种势力暗中角逐，争夺阵地。龙家寨地处山西要地，已建立百年，寨中人杀富济贫，此时又刚上任了最年轻的当家人——小龙女。共产党员董文彬奉命来到山西榆桦县，与代号为“裁缝”的地下党员接头，然而“裁缝”却被鬼子抓获。文彬在找寻“裁缝”破译的情报途中与小龙女相遇，被小龙女逼婚，在文彬焦头烂额之际，他的娃娃亲佳宁表妹神秘出现，一直暗恋小龙女的杠头也搅了进来。在多次与鬼子展开生死较量之后，小龙女从一个莽撞的当家人逐渐转变成为有胆识、有谋略，大义当先的革命女战士。
